FAQ – Weddings

I want you to be my photographer! Now what?!

First off…Yay!!! I can’t wait to capture one of the most remembered and wonderful days of your lives! Your wedding photos are one thing you will have forever to treasure and look back on, and I feel honored that I will get to be a part of capturing it!

Okay, so now for the details. You’re going to want to contact me and please list your wedding date and venue. I will respond by email or phone and set up a time and place to meet up! Choosing a wedding photographer is a BIG deal and I want you to get the chance to meet me and chat about everything! I also offer a complimentary engagement session with every wedding package. This is another a great way for me to get to know you and your fiance a little bit better!

If you decide to move further once we meet, I will require a 25% retainer to secure your date! The rest of the fee will be due 2 weeks prior to the wedding—because the last thing I want is for you to be stressed on the day of your wedding that you can’t find where you put that check for the photographer!

How would you describe your style?
I take a more photojournalism approach. Meaning I like to capture pictures that tells your story as the day unfolds. I love details! No matter how big or small, I want to document them all! You’ll find my style to be artsy but also classic and sophisticated, with of course a little silliness thrown in.  🙂

Do we get a high resolution DVD?
Yes! I believe that every bride and groom deserve a copy of their images to do with as they please!!!

When will I receive my photos?
Good question! Since I spend lots of time editing each of your timeless images please allow up to 4 weeks for me to mail you your disc of images!

Do you have second shooters?
It depends on which package you choose, but most of the time yes!!

Can we give you a list of photos we want taken?
I encourage it! I know that when people get engaged in this day and age the first thing they do is look at fun places like Pinterest, Facebook, etc to see fun ideas for photos. If you could just jot down some of your favorites and shoot me an email, I will do my best to incorporate them! 🙂 Other than that, I spend hours looking up and thinking of new and creative ideas so if you have other things to worry about, then you can leave that up to me!

What is a “First Look”?
The first look is a special private moment where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony takes place. It is a beautiful moment where I get to capture from afar the two of you enjoying each other without all the people looking at you! Then I will leave the two of you to be alone for a bit.

There are a couple great things about this. First, seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony can be overwhelming and feel as though you are under a microscope. Getting that over ahead of time in a private intimate setting can make you feel even more comfortable walking down that aisle.

Another wonderful thing about “First Look” is that it usually tends to be quite hectic gathering all of the family together for pictures after the ceremony and getting to the reception on time. Although I do my very best to keep everything running smoothly and peacefully, when you meet ahead of time we make sure to have the time to take lots of fun intimate pictures of the two of you without feeling rushed!

So looking forward to capturing your magical day!!
